7 Times Celebs Went Barefoot Red Carpet
At Cannes Film Festival on Thursday, America’s OG Sweetheart, Julia Roberts , stunned in a plunging black gown at the red carpet premiere of her film Money Monster . But it's what she wasn’t wearing that got the most attention. Because when she lifted the skirt of her Armani Privé number, she was completely and boldly barefoot. Gasp!Andreas Rentz/Getty Images
Roberts’s lack of footwear violates the strict dress code at Cannes, but her blatant act of style rebellion definitely isn’t unprecedented. Here are six other celebs who said no shoes, no problem on the red carpet:

Shai’s tradition of barefoot adventures is well-documented by now , and we honestly love her for it. Here, she nonchalantly poses with Spectacular Now costar Miles Teller at a screening of the film in 2013.

It’s one thing to ditch your heels on the red carpet, but it’s another thing to do it on the MET FREAKIN’ GALA red carpet. Lena’s only human, though, and in 2014, she simply had it up to here with her foot imprisonment.

Zooey just seems like a whimsical, happy-go-lucky fairy all the time, so she somehow pulls off this barefoot look better than most people ever could.
- Cameron Diaz Getty Images
At the L.A. premiere of Charlie’s Angels 2: Full Throttle in 2003, Cameron Diaz decided she’d stand out from costars Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu by posing barefoot next to them. Or maybe she just wanted to even out the height difference. Who knows? Either way, she still looks gorgeous.

Shout-out to Sean for being the only dude on our list! At the London premiere of Kingdom of Heaven in 2005, the actor paired jeans and a blazer with totally naked feet. He doesn’t have the excuse of wearing painful high heels, so we’re not really sure what’s going on here, but we’ll just assume he was still in his Hobbit frame of mind.

K. Stew, who’s been breaking some fashion rules of her own at this year’s Cannes festival, has said hell nah to shoes on more than one occasion. There was the time she walked barefoot at the American Ultra red carpet , and the time here, when she greeted fans at the Toronto International Film Festival sans shoes.
