'Batman Returns' Actor Danny DeVito Reflects On Tim Burton And The Benefits Of Being The Penguin

Batman Returnsactor Danny Devito Reflects Tim Burton

Last month, we gave you a peek inside the Tim Burton exhibit at New York City's Museum Of Modern Art that included some never-before-seen art from his planned 'Superman Lives' movie . While the exhibit is running through April 2010, here's something you won't be able to see there when you check it out yourself: Danny DeVito reflecting on his time as The Penguin in Burton's 1992 film 'Batman Returns.'

'I loved being with [Burton] on the set. We love hanging out,' DeVito told MTV News during the red carpet opening of the exhibit. 'I love to watch where he's going, what he's trying, all the different things he does.'

Remembering his time in the sequel to 1990's 'Batman,' DeVito indicated that it was one of the few times it was actually good to be the actor forced to don the heavy makeup and costume.

'Talking about 'Batman Returns,' he's got me in this armadillo suit and I'm in a place that's so freezing — the stage was so cold — I was the only one comfortable,' he laughed. 'Everyone's walking around in scarves and hats ... I'm in pounds of latex or whatever the hell it was.'

'I had a great time with him,' said DeVito.
