Bizarrosuperman Movie Making Rounds
Superman 's backward-talking, '#1' nemesis Bizarro has appeared on-screen in various forms over the years, including faithful adaptations in several animated series (and a valiant effort in the live-action 'Superboy' television series) and somewhat less-faithful interpretations in modern live-action series like 'Lois & Clark' and ' Smallville .' But could the reverse-Superman be headed to the big screen?
According to LatinoReview , one of the many spec scripts making the rounds in Hollywood lately is a script for a film based on Bizarro, written by 'Men In Black 2' and 'Galaxy Quest' screenwriter Robert Gordon. While there's no telling if any studio will actually buy the script, it's apparently attracting a lot of amused looks throughout the entertainment industry and the media covering it.
Among other story elements, the occasionally campy script features a new origin for the Superman villain, as well as the return of popular 'Superman' movie villain General Zod. Beginning with an epic Superman-Bizarro brawl and concluding with what Latino Review described as a somewhat redemptive climactic battle between Bizarro, Zod and the latter's formerly imprisoned cohorts, the 'Bizarro' movie script seems like an impressive read -- even if it never finds it way to theaters.
If you can't find a copy of the script online (or even if you can), be sure to check out LatinoReview's video review that takes you through the script from start to finish. It's actually a really well-done tour of the script and Bizarro's history on the big and small screens.
