Bobbi Kristina Brown Was Recording Music Until She Was Hospitalized

Bobbi Kristina Brown , the only child of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, died on Sunday , July 26, at the age of 22.

She passed away in the Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia, after being removed from life support in late June. In a statement posted on Whitney Houston's official Facebook page , the Houston family said a final and sad farewell to Bobbi Kristina.

'It is hard to say goodbye. On Sunday, July 26, Bobbi Kristina Brown made her transition peacefully,' the family wrote. 'The family thanks everyone for their loving thoughts and prayers. As Bobbi Kristina would say: 'The wind is behind me and the sun is in my face.'

Bobbi Kristina became well-known to the public when she appeared with her family in the 2005 reality TV series 'Being Bobby Brown,' which chronicled Bobby, Whitney and their family's attempt to stabilize their domestic lives over a span of six months.

Whitney Houston's death in February, 2012, certainly dealt a difficult blow to Bobbi Kristina, but she eventually seemed to be recovering from the shock, even celebrating her mother's August, 2012 birthday with new tattoos .

Following her mother's death, Bobbi Kristina decided to follow in the footsteps of her superstar parents, by pursing a singing career.

From October 2012 to February, 2013, she starred in Lifetime's reality show, The Houstons: On Our Own,' where she made her singing debut. She worked closely with Whitney Houston's voice coach Ricky Minor to develop her talent.

Ricky Minor is a music director and producer. He did my mom’s ’Star Spangled Banner’ Super Bowl version, of course, and he did ’American Idol.’ To say the least, he’s huge,' Bobbi explained on the show.

'At this point, I wasn’t sure if I was in the mood for meeting or anything, but I know this is an opportunity that my mother would love for me to take. I’m gonna take it and I’m gonna run with it.

I have a really versatile voice, so I don’t really know yet what genre I’m going to be in, she added, going on to admit that she already saw the Whitney comparisons coming. Of course I’m going to be compared to my mother. Being her daughter is a huge blessing, but also a curse at times.

Although Bobbi Kristina took things slowly with her singing career after that, she still seemed to be in a positive space.

In January 2014, she giddily reported that she had married longtime family friend, Nick Gordon .

In the months that followed, she shared several photos of them together on Instagram, but when she was hospitalized, Gordon checked into a rehab facility and was reportedly not allowed to visit her in the hospital.

Bobbi Kristina was hospitalized on January 31, when she was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Georgia home. After revealing that she suffered from ' irreversible brain damage, ' and that her condition continued to deteriorate, her family removed her from life support and placed her in the hospice.

Just days before she was hospitalized, Bobbi Kristina was still tweeting about food, working out and spending late nights in the studio to work on new music.

Rest in peace, Bobbi Kristina Brown.
