Breaking Bad Creator Begs Fans Stop Throwing Pizzas Onto Walter White S Roof

There were a ton of iconic scenes during the five seasons of Breaking Bad , from the box cutter scene to Jane’s vomiting scene to the head-on-the-tortoise scene. But one of the most unforgettable was definitely the pizza on the roof sequence.

You know the one I’m talking about: Skyler throws Walter out of the house and he furiously throws a huge box of pepperoni pizza in the air, only to have it land perfectly on his roof (fun fact: Bryan Cranston reportedly landed it on the first take).

Turns out, the house where that scene took place wasn’t built on some production set. It’s a real home in Albuquerque, NM, and it’s become a popular tourist attraction, according to co-creator Vince Gilligan.

During Tuesday’s Better Call Saul podcast, Gilligan paused from discussing the latest episode of the prequel to send out a plea to Breaking Bad fans. He said the woman and her husband who currently live in Walter White's former residence are usually fine with fans coming by. But lately, visitors have been reenacting the pizza scene and tossing their own pies onto this nice lady’s roof.

Lately, we’re hearing from her that folks are wandering onto her property and they are being rude to her…and they’re throwing pizzas on roofs and stuff like that, Gilligan said. Let me tell you, there is nothing original or funny or cool about throwing a pizza on this lady’s roof. It’s just not funny, it’s been done before, you’re not the first.

At that point, actor Jonathan Banks — who played the intimidating Mike Ehrmantraut on Breaking Bad and has since reprised his role on Better Call Saul — chimed in, And if I catch you doing it, I will hunt you down.
