Caleb Landry Jones is about to sink his teeth into 'Byzantium.' Well… sort of.
Word on the street is that the 'X Men: First Class' star (who will next be seen in 'Contraband') has officially signed on for the male lead in this vampire-themed fantasy thriller, though he himself is not one of the blood-sucking set. Those juicy roles belong to the female tag team of Saoirse Ronan and Gemma Arterton.
The story follows a mother-daughter pair of vampires (played by Ronan and Arterton, we assume) who arrive in a small British town and, for some mysterious reason, reveal their secret to the locals.
According to Variety , Jones will portray a teenager dying of leukemia whose illness forces him to struggle with his mortality, which, in turn, causes Ronan's character to struggle with her own immortality.
Based on a play by Moira Buffini, the flick is targeting a release date sometime in 2012, which means this trio of the dying and the undead better get to work soon—because our appetite for vampires is still growing strong.
