Dave Grohls Ink Tribute Lemmy Kilmister Is Aces
The passing of Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister hit the heavy metal rock community pretty hard this week. And for Foo Fighters lead Dave Grohl , the 70-year-old pioneer's death was especially personal.
In addition to the band's touching social media tribute to the 'Ace of Spades' legend, Grohl decided to make his memorial of the legendary bassist permanent.
Grohl, who'd teamed up with Lemmy for a one-off group called Probot -- which released an album in 2004 and shared the stage with Lemmy and Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash to perform the signature number in 2010 -- got a tattoo of an actual ace of spades as tribute to his late friend.https://www.instagram.com/p/_4-zHVLqvp/
Dave reportedly got the tattoo just after learning of Lemmy's death on Monday (Dec. 28), after he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer just two days before.
'We’ve lost a friend & legend. My heart is broken,' Dave tweeted via the Foo Fighter's official handle after the news came out. 'RIP Lemmy. Born To Lose, Lived To Win.'https://twitter.com/foofighters/status/681700086208843778
