Dave Matthews Dad After Wife Gives Birth Twins

He's always considered the road to be his second home, but now that Dave Matthews is a dad, he just might have to adjust his heavy touring schedule in the future.

On August 15, Matthews' wife, 27-year-old Ashley Harper, gave birth to fraternal twin girls, Stella Busina and Grace Anne, according to a publicist for the Matthews' label. Neither Harper nor the 34-year-old 'I Did It' singer has other children.

The Dave Matthews Band's next scheduled show is Friday at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington, where they'll play three nights. On August 28 the band will wrap up its current tour at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.

At that point, Matthews should have plenty of time to spend with his family, though he will play an acoustic set at Farm Aid in Noblesville, Indiana, on September 29. The event also features John Mellencamp, Neil Young, Barenaked Ladies, Willie Nelson, Alan Jackson, Arlo Guthrie, Pat Green and Crosby, Stills & Nash.

In addition, the Dave Matthews Band will perform October 14 in Seattle at Groundwork 2001 — which also includes Daniel Lanois and Emmylou Harris — and in Mexico City on November 6.

On Tuesday (August 21) the Dave Matthews Band released a collection of 12 music videos (see 'Dave Matthews Band To Release Video Collection' ), and on October 23 the group will issue the latest album in its concert series, the label publicist said. Live in Chicago 12/19/98 was recorded at the United Center and includes the songs: 'The Last Stop,' 'Don't Drink the Water,' '#41,' '#40,' 'Lie in Our Graves,' 'What Would You Say,' 'Rapunzel,' 'Panatala Naga Pampa,' 'The Maker,' 'Crash Into Me,' 'Stay (Wasting Time),' 'Jimi Thing,' 'So Much to Say,' 'Too Much,' 'Christmas Song' and 'All Along the Watchtower.'
