Yes, the Motion Picture Association of America has officially given ' Fifty Shades of Grey ' an R rating, but not for the reasons you might expect. When assigning a rating, the MPAA gives a concise list of reasons. You've seen them, your usual 'adult language,' 'sexual content,' 'brief violence,' all that. The explanation for 'Fifty Shades,' however, is a bit...unusual.





'Strong sexual content,' check, but look closer: as a subset, 'unusual behavior' is listed. Sorry, bondage enthusiasts, looks like the traditionally conservative MPAA is officially othering you. To which we, and the legendary Tom Jones, have this to say:
