Flashs Danielle Panabaker Previews Killer Frosts Terribleearth 2 Debut
Team Flash finally heads to Earth-2 during Tuesday's episode of The Flash for a very special mission, but the shock of who's waiting for them on the other side might be too much for Barry (Grant Gustin) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) to handle. Case in point: things reach an uncomfortable boiling point when they come up against Killer Frost ( Danielle Panabaker ) and Deathstorm (Robbie Amell), who are nothing like their Earth-1 doppelgängers.
Flash fans have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of Killer Frost since Panabaker was cast as Caitlin Snow in the CW series nearly three years ago -- and now the 28-year-old actress finally gets to share her take on the DC Comics supervillainess with the world. 'It's such a nice departure from Caitlin,' Panabaker told MTV News. 'It was a little bit scary, to play something so different, but it was a fun challenge.'
Despite making her official debut as Killer Frost during a blink-and-you'll-miss-it scene in last year's Season 1 finale, the process to perfect Killer Frost's look started well over a year ago.The CW

'There was a whole look that was scrapped,' Panabaker said. 'The wig actually started as a really short pixie, and then it just evolved. We must have done about a dozen tests to find the right makeup look... There was some concern over the blue lips in the beginning because at some point there were a couple of people who felt like her lips should be whited out. But I'm really pale, so if you white-out my lips, you can't see anything.'
After perfecting the look, Panabaker focused her attention on perfecting Frost's signature attitude and evil prowess. 'She's pretty terrible, I'm going to be honest,' she said. 'She has no problem hurting people to get what she wants. That's the fun thing about coming to play a villain on our show, you really get to push the envelope and really have a great time... To finally get to see it all come together, and to get to be on set with her for more than just one quick shot, was the best.'
The two-parter also reunites Panabaker with Amell, whose character Ronnie Raymond perished during the singularity last season. Killer Frost and Deathstorm are kind of like the Bonnie and Clyde of Earth-2 -- passionate, yet heavily armed and very deadly.
'I think there was true love between Caitlin and Ronnie on Earth-1, and on Earth-2, they're united in their passion for each other, but also their passion to do evil,' Panabaker said. 'It was so much fun to explore that dynamic. There's a lot of danger in Earth-2, particularly coming from Deathstorm and Killer Frost. They are not people you want to mess with.'The CW

Of course, there's also another looming figure dwelling in Earth-2: Zoom . If Barry and Cisco want to rescue Wells' daughter from the enigmatic big bad's clutches, then they're going to have to come face to face with the monster himself, and Killer Frost just might be the girl to lead them there. After all, according to Panabaker, the two evildoers have history.
'There is some history between Zoom and Killer Frost, and you will get to learn about that in the next couple of episodes,' she said.
'I think it's great to have a villain that dark and sinister on the show,' Panabaker added. 'It gives us something really authentic to respond to. Zoom is terrifying -- and not just to people watching TV because he's been manipulated or changed in any way. He is a terrifying entity on set. Acting with Zoom keeps us motivated.'
Back on Earth-1, Jay (Teddy Sears) has to step up for Central City in Barry's absence. Despite his life-threatening illness, Jay isn't the kind of guy to give up easily, leading Caitlin to feel even more desperate to save his life.
'Caitlin is falling back on her expertise,' Panabaker said. 'She's a doctor. She specializes in healing people and making them better. That's her passion. It's great to see her reinvigorated and focused on something that can hopefully save this man that she's falling for.'
But first, she's got to get the man's helmet back.
