Heres What 19 Halloween Disney Channel Stars Look Like Now
Halloween is almost upon us, and that means it's time to binge-watch every ~spooky~ Disney Channel Original Movie before the season is over. Of course, you can watch these great films year-round, we don't judge.
Throughout the month, we've celebrated Marnie's physical return to Halloweentown, relived our nightmares by remembering the most terrifying DCOM ever and ranked every scary DCOM known the mankind. Now, it's time to find out what these actors have been up to since their iconic Halloween DCOMs first premiered and left a lasting impact on our lives. Here's what 19 of these actors look like now.
- Kimberly J. Brown , ' Halloweentown ' series Disney / Paul Archuleta/Getty Images
The star of the first three 'Halloweentown' movies (should've been FOUR, just sayin') recently returned to Halloweentown , aka St. Helens, OR, earlier this month to celebrate the film. After ' Halloweentown High ,' Brown starred in 'Big Bad Wolf' and 'Friendship!'. She also made appearances on 'Guiding Light' and 'Low Winter Sun.' Furthermore, Brown got a bachelor's degree in business and told MTV News what her DIY costume tricks are.
- Joey Zimmerman , 'Halloweentown' series Disney / J. Paul Zimmerman/Instagram
After Zimmerman finished up ' Return to Halloweentown ' in 2006, he guest-starred on 'In Plain Sight.' He has two movies coming out soon(ish): 'Roswell FM' and 'Call Back.' Furthermore, he co-founded the sci-fi company ZFO Entertainment . Zimmerman also makes a kick-ass Fourth Doctor from ' Doctor Who ,' as evidenced by some fantastic cosplaying Instagram pics here and here .
- Emily Roeske , 'Halloweentown' series Disney / tournamentnewsonline/YouTube
The youngest Piper child went on to become a third-degree blackbelt and is apparently 'a national champion, forms/weapons Grand Champion, formerly ranked #1 in the country and current Arizona State Champion...[and] is also a NSCA Certified Personal Trainer.' Wow, OK. If Kalabar was still around, I bet he'd remember her name is 'Sophie,' not 'Soapy' or whatever weird name he kept calling her.
- Phillip Van Dyke , 'Halloweentown' series Disney / Phillip Van Dyke/Instagram
Spoilers: Luke the Goblin is a total fox. It appears he quit acting in 2003 after guest-starring on ' The Amanda Show ,' ' Gilmore Girls ' and 'NYPD Blue.' He's now a family man with two adorable kids . Van Dyke told Bustle back in January, 'I run a sales floor for a financial services company. We help investors from all around the world buy and sell stocks, currencies and commodities.' Quite a different direction from acting.
- Daniel Kountz , ' Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge ' Disney / Barry King/WireImage
After getting destroyed by Marnie, Kountz was a guest-star on United States of Tara, Ghost Whisperer and Mad Men. Moreover, he was part of the show 'Youthful Daze.' Oh, and he's still insanely hot .
- Ty Hodges , ' Don't Look Under the Bed ' Disney / Paul Archuleta/FilmMagic
The former ' Even Stevens ' star acted alongside Kel Mitchell in 'Dance Fu.' He directed and wrote his first film, ' Miles from Home ,' in 2006, which won the Audience Award for Best Feature at the Washington DC Independent Film Festival. Hodges has gone on to direct and write several more projects since, including 'A Girl Like Grace' and 'Charlie, Trevor and a Girl Savannah.' Not bad for a former boogeyman.
- Erin Chambers , 'Don't Look Under the Bed' Disney / Dr. Billy Ingram/Getty Images
After looking under the bed, Chambers had guest-starring roles in shows such as, ' Drake & Josh ,' ' Veronica Mars ' and 'Bones.' She also became part of the soap opera scene, playing Lacey Hansen on 'Days of Our Lives,' Siobhan McKenna on 'General Hospital' and Melanie Daniels on 'The Young and the Restless.' More recently, she had a recurring role as Hillary on MTV's own show, ' Finding Carter .'
- Mario Yedidia , ' Under Wraps ' Disney / Mario Yedidia/Twitter
The star of Disney's OG Halloween DCOM, Yedidia quit acting shortly after this film. He got a bachelor's degree in socio-cultural anthropology from Columbia in 2008, according to his LinkedIn page . As of right now, he is a political coordinator for San Francisco Rising .
- Adam Wylie , 'Under Wraps' Disney / Allen Berezovsky/Getty Images
Wylie is definitely no stranger to the acting world, having been involved in over 30 projects before filming 'Under Wraps.' (FYI, he was the voice of Young Prince Derek in ' The Swan Princess ' and the voice of Curly on ' Hey Arnold! '.) Two years after Wylie partied with a mummy, he co-starred in another Halloween DCOM, 'Can of Worms.' He went on to play Brad Langford on 'Gilmore Girls' and voiced Panicky Smurf in 'The Smurfs 2.' Some of his more recent projects include 'Jake and the Never Land Pirates' and 'Castle.'
- Clara Bryant , 'Under Wraps' Disney / Frazer Harrison/Getty Images
Unfortunately, the second pic is from 2004, because a newer one doesn't seem to be available. Bryant appears to have quit acting in 2007, her last project being the TV movie 'Bone Eater.' From 2002-2003, she played the recurring character Molly on ' Buffy the Vampire Slayer .'
- Mark Rendall , ' The Scream Team ' Disney/TNT
After battling evil ghost Zachariah Kull in 2002, Rendall starred in 'Charlie Bartlett,' '30 Days of Night' and 'The Exploding Girl.' More recently, you've probably seen him as Nicholas Boyle in ' Hannibal ,' aka the dude who was butchered by Abigail Hobbs (Kacey Rohl). He has two movies currently in post-production: 'The History of Love' and 'The Other Half.'
- Kat Dennings , 'The Scream Team' Disney / Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic
Dennings was reunited with her on-screen brother Rendall when she also starred in 'Charlie Bartlett.' She later played one of the title characters in the 2008 movie, 'Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist.' Three years later, Dennings stars on the hit CBS show, '2 Broke Girls.' Back in October 2014, Dennings ' shipped ' herself with boyfriend Josh Groban , aka the 'You Raise Me Up' guy with the angelic voice.
- Tia Mowry-Hardrict , ' Twitches ' & ' Twitches Too ' Disney / Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Half of the ' Sister, Sister ' duo, Mowry became Mowry-Hardrict in 2008 after dating 'Lincoln Heights' star Cory Hardrict for seven years, according to InStyle . The couple have an adorable son named Cree, who rocks some killer hair . You can currently find her on the Cooking Channel's show ' Tia Mowry at Home .' Mowry-Hardrict is also the author of 'Oh, Baby!: Pregnancy Tales and Advice from One Hot Mama to Another' and the co-author of the children's book series ' Twintuition ' which she wrote with her twin sister Tamera Mowry-Housley.
- Tamera Mowry-Housley , 'Twitches' & 'Twitches Too' Disney / Vincent Sandoval/FilmMagic
The other half of 'Sister, Sister,' Mowry became Mowry-Housley in 2011, when she wed Adam Housley . The couple have two children together: Aden and Ariah, the latter recently born back in July . Mowry-Housley is a co-host on the talk show ' The Real .' According to a Yahoo! interview her sister gave in the summer, Mowry-Housley is more traditional of a mom than Mowry-Hardrict is. Furthermore, Mowry-Housley runs a website where she provides several tips for healthy living and family life.
- Matt O'Leary , ' Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire ' Disney / Gilbert Carrasquillo/FilmMagic
After accidentally hooking up his single mom with a vampire (worst son ever), O'Leary went on to play Emily Osment's big bro Gary Giggles in 'Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams' and 'Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over.' Years later, he'd act in 'In Time,' 'Fat Kid Rules the World' and 'The Lone Ranger.' Look for him in the 2015 movie ' ToY ,' where he plays a transexual prostitute.
- Laura Vandervoort , 'Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire' Disney / Chelsea Lauren/Getty Images
This film was actually Vandervoot's second DCOM, the first being 'Alley Cats Strike.' After dealing with one seriously determined vampire, Vandervoot played Sadie Harrison on 'Instant Star' for several years, and was in over 20 episodes of 'Smallville' as Supergirl/Kara Kent. Today, she's best-known for starring on the Syfy show ' Bitten ,' playing werewolf Elena Michaels. She also 'served as an ambassador to World Vision Canada, supporting the 'Starting Strong' initiative, which is a volunteer program that aims to improve the health and quality of life to children in remote areas,' according to The Women's Wire .
- Myles Jeffrey , 'Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire' Disney / Jason Merritt/FilmMagic
Unfortunately, the second pic is from 2006 since a more-recent one doesn't appear to be available. Like his on-screen big sister Vandervoot, this film was Jeffrey's second DCOM — the first being 'Stepsister from Planet Weird.' Jeffrey has been a member of MENSA since he was a kid. (Whoa.) He received a bachelor's degree in English from the University of California in 2010, and is apparently an associate producer for 'The Bonded Lot,' according to (presumably) his LinkedIn page . One of his last acting roles was in the 2011 film ' 11:11 '.
- Michael Shulman , ' Can of Worms ' Disney / Michael Shulman/Instagram
After dealing with a horde of crazy aliens, Shulman guest-starred on 'Law & Order' twice, once in 2001 and then again in 2009. The Emmy-nominated actor is a Yale graduate who married Sara Jo Slifka in early 2014. According to The New York Times , the two 'met through an online dating service in September 2009,' and have a furry, four-legged child named Stevie , who is way too cute for words. Shulman co-founded Starry Night Entertainment , which 'is a bi-coastal production company with interests in film, television and theatre.' Being a Tony Award nominated producer, Shulman is no stranger to the stage, having appeared in both Broadway and Off-Broadway shows since he was a kid.
- Erika Christensen , 'Can of Worms' Disney / Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images for National Geographic Channels
Christensen went on to guest-star on episodes of 'That '70s Show' and 'Law & Order: SVU.' She played Julia Braverman-Graham on the successful NBC show 'Parenthood.' Christensen recently married cyclist Cole Maness in California, according to People . Her newest project is the ABC crime drama ' Wicked City .' The pilot episode just launched Tuesday, and apparently was a worldwide trending topic, 'second only to the World Series,' according to a tweet from Christensen.
