Is That Will Turner
Jack Sparrow ( Johnny Depp ) is nowhere to be seen in the new teaser trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales , but we're 99.9% sure that's Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann’s (Keira Knightley) teenage son, Henry (Brenton Thwaites) — and he has an ominous message for everyone's favorite incoherent, eyeliner-wearing pirate, straight from the kooky Captain Salazar himself: 'Death will come straight for him.'
Sadly, Bloom does not appear in the teaser trailer — Dead Man Tell No Tales marks the actor’s return to the Pirates franchise — but a drawing of Captain Jack Sparrow does, as does Javier Bardem, who is delivering one hell of a madcap performance here. As for Henry, well, he actually looks pretty chill for someone who's standing face to face with the undead. Then again, he’s probably used to that, seeing how his father is the cursed captain of the Flying Dutchman and all.
(While it hasn't been confirmed that Thwaites's Henry is Elizabeth and Will's son, according to the actor himself , he's trying to 'break a curse' that is preventing him from reconnecting with his father. Yeah, that's him.)
In Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Captain , Jack Sparrow finds himself in quite a precarious spot when ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea — including him. Since Jack has a huge aversion to dying, we can’t imagine he’s going to be OK with this. (Perhaps this is where Captain Will Turner comes in to help.) Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that 'bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.'
Yeah, OK. Sounds good.
Directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales hits theaters on May 26, 2017.
