Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll is best known to EDM fans as Kygo , the DJ and producer behind a trendy new wave of tropical house tunes.

He has a pretty extensive rap sheet for being so new to the dance music game, with performances at Ultra Miami, Coachella and the Greek Theater in Los Angeles to add to his accolades.

One year from the release of his hit single Firestone, Kygo has released Stay, a collaboration with LA-based vocalist Maty Noyes.

She sent me over the demo. I loved it,' Kygo told MTV News. 'Loved her voice. It was so unique. I just liked the idea and gave it a try. It was actually kind of a quick process. I feel like when I get the demos -- I get a lot of demos -- but when I get the right demo, I get very inspired. I produce around it, and it often goes very fast.

Collaborator Noyes, an 18-year old singer-songwriter, had a blast working with the Nordic musician. 'I actually co-wrote the song in maybe two to three hours, laid the vocals and thought to myself, 'The only thing it's missing is a drop from Kygo,'' she told MTV News. 'We thought, let's try and send it to him, and within days, he almost had it done. It came so easy, was sort of unbelievable. Having not met him during that process, a month later my friend invited me over to hang, and Kygo was there along with his crew. It was totally serendipitous and such a special way to meet. Some things are just meant to be!'

2014's Firestone , featuring Australian singer-songwriter Conrad Sewell, had a similar structure: a collaboration between Kygo and an up-and-coming vocalist.

Kygo loves finding fresh talent. There are so many talented people out there; [many] unique voices like Maty and Conrad,' he said. 'I just want to find all these people. As I said, I get a lot of demos sent my way. When I listen to them, I immediately realize this is the person I want to work with.

In addition to his new release, likely en route to success considering his past momentum and devoted fans, Kygo is bringing a live show to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Jan. 21, 2016.

What I really enjoy and what I do in the studio is play keyboard. That's why I built this new live show,' Kygo said. 'I like bringing keyboards and stuff on stage. I am bringing like a full-on production, a huge show. Then I am also planning on bringing some special guests with me.

And does Mr. Tropical House ever get nervous when playing to these giant crowds of adoring fans?

Yeah, I'm definitely nervous. When I get up there, maybe I'm nervous for the first song, but then I get into it. It’s a lot of fun to stand up there. I always enjoy the moment when I'm actually standing on stage. When I'm done, I'm like, ‘Oh, I want to play one more song.’
