Marcy Playgrounds Sherry Frasersurfaces
The subject of the new Marcy Playground single will likely be surfacing in her own right in the near future.'Sherry Fraser' was written by the band's John Wozniak about his good friend and fellow songwriter/musician Sherry Fraser, the co-author of 'Ancient Walls of Flowers' on the band's self-titled debut album. The two dated from the ninth grade through to their first year of college. The song lyrics include the refrain 'Sherry Fraser where have you gone / we're all wondering / when will you come back / and play Š someday.'
Now it seems that the plea has worked -- the notoriety has propelled Fraser into actively pursuing her music career. She's started up her own band called Two-Ton Boa. The group is heading into the studio in the very near future to record some demos. Marcy Playground has been touring the U.S. since early September and are now about to head to Australia for a string of dates down under beginning October 12. The New York-based trio has also added
at least one date in Europe, the massive New Pop Festival in Baden-Baden Germany. They will be returning to the States a mere 48 hours later to begin yet another leg of touring in North America, beginning in Colorado Springs on October 24.Between tours, the group has been in the studio working on a new album with production assistance from Steven Drake, the frontman for Marcy's management rostermates, The Odds.
