Pretty Little Liars
Unless you've been living under the rock that A used to bash Alison's head in, then you're probably aware of the fact that 'Pretty Little Liars' will return for its fifth season on Tuesday, June 10. You're also probably aware that this will be the show's most revealing season yet, because Alison has returned from the dead to help fill in so many of the head-scratching blanks that have been torturing us for years.
Moments after where the season four finale left off, Aria and the Liars are reeling from Ezra’s shooting at the hands of ‘A,’' explains ABC Family's official synopsis of 'EscApe From New York.'

'The five girls quickly realize that as the one person who truly knows A’s identity, Ezra is in grave danger. While Aria stands watch over Ezra at the hospital, Alison and the PLLs lay a trap to finally flush out ‘A,’ but are shocked by who is ensnared. Meanwhile, Holbrook steps up his efforts to find the girls and puts the Hastings family on alert. And as news of Alison’s resurrection spreads, Mona is not pleased.
Hmm. Doesn't really tell us much about the big questions, but I've been doing some thinking during these off months — and have eight theories of various strength and detail that I think will play out during season five of PLL. Enjoy, and let me know your own thoughts and theories in the comments!
Ezra will be alive.
... but maybe in a coma, or at least suffering from amnesia, for quite some time. Obviously it's a bit early on for the show to kill off its male lead, but if he woke up with all of his memories intact early on, it would take all of the fun out of the 'Uber A' reveal that should happen during the 5 finale.
... but his shooter might not be.
PLL has already said that the shooter's identity will be revealed very quickly, which has me thinking that it's probably a member of the A-Team instead of the Uber. But since this person is close enough to Uber to know that Ezra has to go, then they probably know a whole lot more — too much to stay alive, basically.
There's another DiLaurentis...
This particular theory seems to be a bit out there at first, but when you really think about it, few other things would explain what we saw in 'A is for Answers.' The PrettyLittleSecretHints Tumblr recently revealed that 'Radley Sanitarium' is an anagram for 'A DiLaurentis Army' (or Mary A. DiLaurentis) — which could be just another treat for ravenous fans, but could also explain quite a lot. Because, honestly, if Mrs. DiLaurentis covered up what she thought was one of her children's murder for anyone but another child, then she's even more messed up than we thought she was.
The show runners have already stated that they're not pursuing the twin plot line from the books, but that doesn't mean that there couldn't be another (crazy) DiLaurentis child in the mix. This would explain a whole number of things, from Mrs. D purchasing teen girl clothes when she still thought that Alison was dead to her involvement with the Radley board of trustees. CrAzy, right?
... or Jason is just a nut.
We've been told that he has a drinking problem, but what if it goes further than that? What if he's actually violent and/or crazy? Again, it seems unlikely that Mrs. D would cover up Ali's fake-murder for anyone but her own child, and Jason fits that description.
I don't necessarily think he's Uber A, but he could definitely have hated his sister enough (or have been wasted enough) to try to bash her head in with a rock. Then his mommy covered it up, because that's what mommies do.
Wren killed the girl in Ali's grave.
The replacement murder on the night of Ali's death is still one of the show's biggest mysteries, but we do know one thing for sure — Melissa Hastings knows more about it than anyone else, and feels complicit enough to need a defense attorney.
Many seem to think that Melissa's sad whisper into her father's ear was her own confession, but I think this might be a fake out. Wren has always been a shady character, and the fact that he worked at Radley could tie him to a number of people and things. Also, he's close enough to Melissa for her involvement to make sense.
Toby's mother is still alive.
She has to be, right? Someone has to tell us who that mysterious blonde friend was, after all.
We'll get Ali and Ezra flashbacks, and they'll somehow turn Ezra into the hero again.
Since Ezra is now cleared of most official wrongdoing, PLL has some 'splainin to do when it comes to his creepy past with Alison. We'll need some seriously good reasoning if we're going to excuse his misdeeds and let him hang out with our Aria again, but there's no doubt in our minds that the show will find a way to turn Ezra into the hero.
Ali is going to make things super difficult for pretty much everybody.
Because SHE ALWAYS DOES. Watch your back (and your lips), Emily.
