Pusha T Defends Desiigner
The hip-hop landscape may as well be a barren desert in Pusha T ’s eyes.
The GOOD Music boss (a.k.a. El presidenté, a.k.a. Blowbama) has aired out his grievances with the rap game on H.G.T.V., produced by Mike Will Made-It. The blistering cut clocks in at just over two minutes, but Pusha makes the most of his time with hard-hitting bars aimed at those who’ve failed to top him. He also defends his GOOD signee Desiigner , advising, Don’t listen to ’em, Desiigner / The same rappers talkin’ next year will be Uber drivers.
Most notably, though, the track may take aim at Pusha’s longtime nemesis , Drake . It’s too far gone when the realest ain’t real / I walk amongst the clouds, so your ceilings ain’t real, he raps, possibly alluding to Drake’s mixtape So Far Gone , as well as Lil Wayne's No Ceilings . Push continues, These n****s Call of Duty ’cause they killings ain’t real / With a questionable pen so the feeling ain’t real, which sounds like a reference to Drizzy’s ghostwriting allegations.
The track’s trippy, Yung-Jake–directed video is shot in black and white and entirely in portrait orientation, so you may want to view this one on your phone.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7s63y_kfWt4
H.G.T.V. follows the Jay Z–featuring Drug Dealers Anonymous as the supposed next cut from Pusha’s long-awaited album King Push . He also recently teamed up with Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo on a sprightly, upbeat jam , if that’s more up your alley.
