Travis Scott And The Weeknd Call The Shots On New Song ‘Wonderful’

Travis Scott Weeknd Call Shots New Song Wonderful

2015 was a huge year for Travis Scott , who released his stellar debut album Rodeo , mercilessly teased a mystery project with Kanye and finished the year as an opener on The Weeknd ’s The Madness tour. Sure, there were some stumbles along the way — like his recent guilty plea of reckless conduct after that incident at Lollapalooza — but there was still a lot to celebrate.

Instead of using Dec. 31 as a day to revel in those accomplishments, though, La Flame has kept one eye on the future by treating fans to a double dose of new music.

First, Travis teams up with his current tour mate for Wonderful, a jubilant toast to the good life. Scott celebrates his blessings with hypnotic Autotuned verses, while The Weeknd swoops in with a soulful-sounding hook. As some fans pointed out, the track may sound familiar because another version of the song from Tinashe leaked in 2014 (the track comes from an all-star lineup of producers: Boi-1da, T-Minus and Mike Dean).

The second track, A-Team (no, it’s not an Ed Sheeran cover — I know you’re surprised), finds Travis flying solo for a trumpet-sampling celebration of first-string life, during which he advises, please don’t try to play us.

2016 is already shaping up to be another banner year for Travis, who’s joining Rihanna for the North American leg of her ANTI world tour. Then again, we need to see her album before the tour happens, and if recent rumors are any indication, Travis may be the culprit behind those delays. Or not, if he has anything to say about it .
