True Lifeupdate Are Mike
MTV's 'True Life: I'm Dating A Cougar' followed two young men who were both dating women old enough to be their mother. We had an opportunity to check in with Mike and Dominic to see how their lives have changed since filming wrapped. Take a look at our follow-up Q&As below:
What's new in your relationship with Ginny?
The only thing different in my relationship with Ginny is we are no longer living together, and I am not working with her when she travels. I now work back in Des Moines.
You're not working with Ginny anymore -- what are you doing?
I am working as a carpenter building houses.
What advice would you have for someone who wants to date an older woman?
Advice I would have: If you know you are doing the right thing, never stop doing it. Express your love and passion always.
Do you think there are stereotypes about guys dating older women? How do you feel about that?
The only stereotypes I could think of is that young people don't know love yet, and young people couldn't support an older person, blah-blah.
What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future include continuing working, proving to myself and everyone that I do love Ginny and I'll do anything to keep her in my future.
What's new with your relationship with Marissa?
What's new about our relationship is things have gotten better, and we've actually grown closer since we started taping 'True Life.'
How is your relationship with Coopie now?
My relationship with Coopie 'mama' is good, and our relationship has gotten better.
How is school going?
School is going good for me; I'm taking classes so I can transfer to UNLV next semester.
Have you started the IVF process yet? If not, what are your plans?
We haven't started the IVF process yet, but we plan to hopefully when we have more money saved up to pay for it.
How many kids do you want to have with Marissa?
I'd be fine if we had just one child together, but if God blesses us with more than one during the IVF treatment, then that would be cool!
Do you have any advice for anyone who wants to date an older woman?
My advice to anyone looking to date an older woman would be to make sure you have your sh-t together, because no woman wants a man who isn't trying to accomplish anything or living off someone else.
Did going to counseling really make a difference in your relationship?
I feel that going to counseling really did help our relationship in showing us the importance of always trying to make time for just us and to at least set aside an hour a night to just talk to each other about whatever.
