Tupac Lyrics Spark 200 Million Libel Suit
March 27 [10:00 EST] -- One of the co-defendants in the 1994 sex abuse case brought against Tupac Shakur has now filed a $200 million libel suit against the estate of the late rapper.
Jacques Agnant, a 33-year-old from New York City, claims that since last fall's release of Tupac's 'Don Kiluminati' album, he's been unable to get work and fears for his life.
Agnant says that lyrics in the track 'Against All Odds' falsely portray him as a police informant, who is described as a stocky, light skinned man with a Haitian accent, named Jack.
The track (in which Tupac has less than flattering words for Nas , Mobb Deep, and Sean 'Puffy' Combs ) includes the lyrics, 'I heard he was light skinned, stocky with a Haitian accent/Jewelry, fast cars and he's known for flashing.../Listen while I take you back/and lace this rap/A real live tale/About a snitch named Haitian Jack/Knew he was working
In a plea bargain in that 1994 sex abuse case, Jacques Agnant agreed to a $1,000 fine and three years probation.
No comment was available on this suit from Tupac's lawyer.
